NEXUS – pupillage application form 2021-22

Applicants must be able to demonstrate: integrity, educational achievement; hard work and enterprise; advocacy ability; a clear commitment to Chambers’ practice areas; and a desire to join a growing and forward-looking set. We are committed to the principles of Equality & Diversity and Fair Recruitment & Selection; applications will be considered accordingly.

Applicants may be invited for a short interview as part of the selection process.

Our third six pupillages are six months in duration and an application for full tenancy can be made during or at the conclusion of the third six pupillage.

Third six pupils can expect to be in court most days and will be required to attend court on some Saturdays. The majority of the work will be criminal but there will be opportunities to gain experience across the full range of chambers’ practice areas.

Third six pupils will not be offered guaranteed minimum earnings or a pupillage award. They will, however, keep all fees earned subject to the deduction of clerks’ fees at 12.5%. Third six pupils will not be expected to make any other financial contribution towards Chambers’ rent or expenses. Third six pupils will be expected to meet their own travel expenses. In the event that the third six pupillage is not converted into a tenancy, the third six pupil will be given full and transparent feedback on request.

Our third six pupillages are advertised on the Bar Council website.
